Amina Ayad, Attorney-Mediator

Amina Ayad founded Above Conflict Mediation and Coaching, LLC (Above Conflict) in 2024 to provide thoughtful and efficient mediation and conflict coaching services. Amina is a licensed attorney in the State of Illinois, and a mediator. Amina earned her law degree from Northwestern University School of Law. In 2012 Amina obtained her mediation certification through Northwestern's Mediation and Negotiation's Clinic, in collaboration with the Center for Conflict Resolution in Chicago, IL.

In her career, Amina has provided professional services to U.S. federal government agencies, non-profit and international organizations, commercial dispute resolution providers, and to corporations. Amina has also provided Neutral services on class actions. These include: the JP Morgan Chase Settlement Process - Senegal v. JP Morgan Chase Bank, and the Wells Fargo Settlement Process - Slaughter v. Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC.

Amina has a passion for problem solving, and is known for her natural problem-solving skills. She also has a Master's from Columbia University in the City of New York. Prior to her M.A, Amina graduated at the top of her undergraduate class with a 3.99GPA. Amina has carried that attention to detail from her academic experiences, to her profession. She helps clients identify issues, and facilitates their negotiated and mutual agreements. In addition, as a Conflict Coach, Amina enjoys working with individuals, as well as couples, through their difficult times; to see first-hand how helpful it can be for individuals to work with a neutral and trusted person as they work through a problem.

Although Amina Ayad's services at Above Conflict are neutral conflict resolution services and not legal services, her prior legal education and experience help inform her understanding of client concerns. Amina's prior attorney roles included being an "Attorney Advisor," an "Attorney," and later a "Supervisory Attorney." As a mediator, Amina is trained in and has experience working with a facilitative mediation model, and with multiple Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes. Amina also has experience in ADR program design during a Presidential Management Fellowship.
